Accompanying textBorn in Detroit, Michigan, Marcia Morse received a BA in Sociology and Clinical Psychology from Harvard and an MFA in printmaking from Stanford. She also studied at la Escuela de Bellas Artes in Quito, Equador for two years. Morse later became a Professor of Art at Honolulu Community College, as well as a freelance writer and art critic. For this multimedia artist, "connection between structure and meaning" is as important to her work as is the "relationship between the properties of the material."
