Accompanying textThis print is part of a suite of 16 mezzotints entitled "Flowers of Turbulence" by James Groleau. French poet Charles Baudelaire's famous book of poetry "Les Fleurs du Mal" (The Flowers of Evil) served as an inspiration for Groleau's print suite. Groleau was born in Lewiston, Maine, and currently resides in San Francisco. His works are in the collections of such museums as the Oakland Museum in California, Contemporary Graphics Museum in Cairo, Egypt, and the Rijksmuseum, Antwerp, Belgium.
